Because of the tourism attraction program of Incredible India our country has been witnessing a huge influx of foreign tourists. Even many country men are also coming out of their shell and exploring every nook and corner of our land. Home stay is another program initiated in India to provide comfort of a homely environment. Home stay means home away from home which gives a feeling of home. Home stay give a tourist a chance to enjoy home made food and relax in the comfort
of a house where your are not bound to maintain the protocol of a hotel, and can explore the local people and their culture. Home stay gives a feeling of belonging. Actually it is the best thing to experience the Indian hospitality.

This concept of home stay has gained a tremendous positive response in the tourism industry. Tourists like this concept very much and why not? If any one is getting homely atmosphere out side the home then it will be definitely fantastic. The concept of bed and breakfast and home stay are similar. Guests are either accommodated in the same house with the host or in a separate quarter near by.

Home made food-- Who does not like home made made food? And home stay is the best way to enjoy home made Indian food. There are some home stay where you can use the kitchen to make your own recipe.
Local culture-- Home stay is the unique way to explore the local culture, local activities with the help of with their host.

Common wealth games 2010 – what to expect

As the D day approaching, we Indians are keeping our fingers crossed to make our mother land a good host. But alas! Indian's Commonwealth Games preparation have been unexpectedly depressing. The organizers committee is following the old adage of what can go wrong will go wrong. There are so many political wrangling, allegations of corruption, doping scandals along with delays to the completion of venues have made a negative publicity of the mega events. More over the fear of dengue fever is getting worse. About 24 countries have asked in writing about the dengue status of the country. These all together have made the pre games situation a bit scary. The controller and Audit General agency criticised the games as the most expensive ever.

The Commonwealth Games is held once in every four years. It is a unique, world class, multi-sports event often referred to as the ‘Friendly Games’. As a means of improving the society and people, the Commonwealth Games Federation' encourages and assists education via sports development and physical recreation'. The current scenario of New Delhi CWG is not at all impressive. The core values of Commonwealth Games Federation - HUMANITY - EQUALITY - DESTINY are missing here.
Today just 27 days before the game we are still not hopeful enough to have the event successful. We can wait, watch and can hope for the best.

Ecotourism in Kochi gets a big boost


It is really an interesting and good to know that eco tourism is getting its boost gradually. The inauguration of the Parunthuranchi Manappuram Ecotourism project in Aluva in Kochi on Monday was indeed a big deal.

Tourism industry is providing much focus on eco tourism to sustain our environment. Here the project will be implemented in two phases. The initial phase will be of the construction of a boat jetty, pathways and growing mangroves. The second level of development will depend on the developmental out come of the first level. The project will be implemented by the District Tourism Promotion Council of Kochi with financial aid from the Department of tourism.

Parunthuranchi Manappuram Ecotourism project will attract large number of sensible tourist to Kochi. Infact Kerala is regarded as one of the prime eco tourism destination. The main aim of eco tourism is to to enjoy nature by providing proper protection. And such kind of eco tourism project is undoubtedly a big boost in eco tourism industry.
Along with Parunthuranchi Manappuram Ecotourism project the Government has under taken pathway beautification project at Kundalakkadavu and the Harithavanam Park renovation.
